To me this is well worth it, especially since an ionic blow dryer uses half the heat, reduces frizz and minimizes heat damage all while leaving your hair fuller and shinier than a regular blow dryer. Trust me, all hair types can benefit form this tool.
To get the best blow drying results begin by drying your hair with a towel as much as possible. Start by using a smaller brush for the front sections of your hair, drying them backward and directing the air stream from root to tip. I suggest starting with the front sections in order to get any baby hair you may have in control. If you wait until the baby hair is dry, they will be almost impossible to sculpt. To avoid getting frizz in the process, apply a small amount of Argon Oil to damp hair and blow dry each section in the direction of the brush movement. If you blow dry your hair backward, it will have more body and will fall perfectly just like Jessica Alba’s in the picture above.
Craving those perfect curls? When I think of curls, I think of Julia Roberts. Her hair is always full of luscious loose locks. To achieve this flawless look, you have to be equipped with the right curling iron.
I recommend sticking to ionic hair tools and a curling iron is no exception. I personally use the Bio Ionic iCurl 1 inch curling iron. It leaves your hair super shiny and natural looking.
My main advice for achieving this look is to use as little hair product as possible. You want the curls to fall naturally. Blow dry your hair straight, first. Then go through your hair, piece by piece curling your hair towards the back of the head and gently loosening the curls as you go. Too much product may make your hair curlier than you wish. After all, you want to look like Julia Roberts, not Shirley Temple.
Everyone likes a little variety and if you are in the mood for straight sleek hair like Demi Moore’s, boy have I got a straightener for you. Salon Tech 1 inch silicone 450 flat iron, is one of the best out there. At the salon, my stylist uses a pricier straightener on me, one that costs over $400. But I can honestly say that the Salon Tech flat iron which is $200 is as good if not better. It heats up to 450 degrees in less than 17 seconds and shuts off after 30 minutes as a handy safety feature. Blow dry your hair first, then gently run the flat iron to get rid of excess frizz and unruly kinks. But before you put your hair through the straightening process apply Argon Oil or another serum to ensure that the heat burns the product and not your beautiful strands.
Shiny hair is healthy hair. Many people go to extremes to achieve luster. My tip is to add a very small amount of Profound Beauty Shine Serum as the final step in straightening or curling your hair. A little bit will go a long way. Put a nickel sized drop in your palm, lather it into both hands and lightly brush it into your hair with your fingers. The results will be instant.
Enjoy my tips and have fun trying new things with your hair. Happy hair product shopping, ladies.
